About Debra
Debra Dear has a BA in psychology from the University of Michigan. For over 20 years, Debra has been living and practicing the principles of Balanced Yoga. In her 20's Debra traveled to over 70 countries on 6 continents. She spent over three years in Asia and studied in India and Thailand with multiple enlightened masters. She had an insatiable appetite to learn meditation techniques and yoga methodology from masters and teachers located in all different parts of the world. On her journey, she integrated ideas from many different forms and fields of yoga and psychology. Debra's desire was to feel calm, balance out her thoughts and relax her body. Debra was most fascinated by the energy that she felt while studying from enlightened masters. It is this feeling that she has intensively studied and recreates thru her simple exercises, techniques and strategies from Balanced Yoga. It was this passion to feel calm in her mind and body that kept Debra motivated to continue her studies at a rapid pace. Debra received her kundalini yoga certification more than 15 years ago and has also studied poses and methodology from Iyengar, Sivananda, Integral, Ashtanga and Kripalu yoga. Debra liked studying other forms of yoga, but knew in her heart, mind and body that she was destined to create a form of yoga that was simplified and could be practiced by anyone, regardless of their religious affiliation, body type, sex or current situation in life. She wanted to integrate yogic principles into her everyday life and wanted to practice exercises while she was living her busy life. The idea of practicing yoga not just in a yoga studio, but by bringing everyday peace and calm into her life inspired her to create the system of Balanced Yoga. Debra created the exercises so that she could feel more focused, aware and centered as she moved thru her everyday life. Imagine not making any changes in your routines or lifestyles, but just feeling more calm and centered as you live your life. She currently holds the trademark for Balanced Yoga and is planning on growing her brand nationally and then internationally. She believes that there is a huge need for people to feel more calm, more centered, more aware, more focused, more energetic and more at ease during their day. Balanced Yoga exercises can be practiced anywhere and anytime. Learn to use your time effectively and reverse the effects of time. Debra has taught Balanced Yoga at Doral Fitness, David Barton Gym, Equinox, and the Goldman Sachs Corporate Gym in New York City. She currently teaches classes in Boca Raton, Florida and has a home based studio. Debra is an ace certified fitness trainer. Her goal is to build a presence on the web and to use her website as a way to spread her messages and her vision for Balanced Yoga. Debra is very open to sharing her information and likes to connect with other businesses and people that are looking to share with others how to become more peaceful, calm, centered, aware and focused in their everyday life. |
